Evaluate Your Recruiter

Some say recruiters and HR managers spend no more than 1 minute on your CV. Even when they read they do not even scroll down to second page of your resume and so they are not familiar with your background. Talking to someone without full preparation is a waste of time, so you need to analyse which recruiters worth your time talking with.

It’s easy to tell which cold call is from a well-prepared recruiter. Anyone asking for your basic information is worth no time to be entertainment by job seekers. In this context you can stop their cold and ask if they have reviewed your linkedin profile completely. Some recruiters are pushy though, and they may tactfully ask for further elaboration of yourself. In this case, you might want to hear what they are going to say.

Some candidates fear that rude disruption to recruiters’ cold call would create a notorious reputation in the job market. One thing we should all know is that recruiters have no right to ask for any personal information at the cold call stage. Instead we should use that chance know more about relevant job opportunities. Ask them the latest job market information like demanding positions, salary range, construction…etc.

A good recruiter in your corner is a fantastic asset, but as in any profession, there are more unsuitable recruiters than top-notch ones around. So understanding our rights as a candidate and  how to make use of recruiting services is important in landing a job.

Morale Boosted

High morale leads to cooperation, high productivity and employee retention.
Since employee morale can quickly build or break a company’s success, effective leaders often keep a close eye on it and adapt creative approaches to strengthen it. Here some tactics to think about adapting for your business:

1. Keep employees feeling their work is more than just a job.
Employees wants to feel that his or her work has a higher purpose. One of the key ways that to inspire employees is by sharing stories to show them the value of their work.

2. Take time to celebrate accomplishments.
It’s always humble to focus on what’s ahead rather than mesmerized in how much has been achieved. Reflection, however, helps employees appreciate how much they have achieved and set future business goals.

3. Give time to employees to pursue projects they are passionate about.
Personal projects can provide an energizing break from regular responsibilities and can serve as a source of innovation for a company. Atlassian, a developer of collaboration software based in Sydney, encourages creativity during its “FedEx Day”. All employees can work on anything that excites them — as long as it is related to Atlassian business. Employees have from 2 p.m. on Thursday to 4 p.m. Friday, giving them a whole day to deliver a project. Participants show off the results of their projects at a presentation. From these ideas, Atlassian has adopted more than a dozen projects, ranging from product upgrades to process improvements.

4. Have fun.
Online discounter FatWallet put “fun” as a regular part of the schedule. Its 55 employees are invited to play in a monthly Game Day, an in-house competition with activities ranging from Trivial Pursuit to Wii bowling matches. Rewards are given to MVP on the Game day. It’s nothing related to business, but consequently morale is boosted so well.
